Sabine Christiansen is Germanys top talk show host
She has been anchoring the countrys most influential political discussion program since 1998. Broadcast nationally on the leading ARD network to consistently high ratings, the Sabine Christiansen show has also been seen in a number of other European countries. Sabine Christiansen has hosted leading international figures ranging from Bill Gates to Bill Clinton, from Kofi Annan to Harry Belafonte, Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell, Jeffrey Immelt, Salman Rushdie and Tony Blair.
One of the most highly recognized journalists in Germany, Ms. Christiansen is equally at home discussing international politics or world business in English, German, French, and Spanish.
Prior to creating her own discussion show, Sabine Christiansen anchored the nightly news program ARD-TAGESTHEMEN for ten years, and also authored a series of international documentaries. For her journalistic work she has received all of Germanys highest awards, from the Grimme Preis and Bambi to Goldene Kamera. She received the World Media Award in 2005.
National Ambassador for UNICEF
She is personally committed to social issues through her own foundation for childrens rights, as the only national Ambassador for UNICEF/ Germany (www.unicef.de) and through her work on a number of boards and advisory councils. Her social commitment has been acknowledged by the German government, which in 2002 bestowed upon her its Order of Merit, and by a series of other awards including the Courage Prize and the Religions Prize.
