Philippe Starck

Designer

Philippe Starck is a French designer who is best known for his work in New Design style. His designs range from interior designs to consumer goods and houses.

Since the late 1980ies, Starck emphasized his work in architecture and designed, among others, premises for Lagouiole; builds the ship-shaped building “La Flamme” for the Asahi Brewery as well as the Nani Nani Building for Rikugo in Tokyo.

His refit of the Royalton Hotel on New York’s E 44th Street changed the hotel industry and boutique hotels became the industry buzz.
